In the XIIth century the "Dame de Damazan" Priory was built by farmer-monks.

Damazan - Bateaux en écluses S. Robin

This little Rural Heritage Bastide town was founded in 1259 by the Count of Poitiers. Ancient city walls with many towers still protects the City Hall and its square surrounded by colombage houses constituant un ensemble de cornières. The four gates oriented to the four cardinal points watch over the town.

Moor your boat alongside the quay and enjoy the visit of this rural heritage village. Cycling its velocity tracks, ball-trap and archery are among the many activitys one can practise.
