Between Montauban and Montech, take the Lacourt Saint Pierre way, and enjoy the 1460 hectare old dense forest, which is a wonderful place for horse riding or hiking. The11km Canal de Montech cuts through the forest and has 9 charming lock-keeper's houses.

    The Montech water slope, parallel to the old 5 lock system, was built in 1973 and is unique in the world. The water is trapped within three walls and the triangle then slides up a 3° slope taking both water and boat with it.
    Pleasure craft take the old 5 locks and only large boats take the lift.

   Built in the XVth and XVIth centurys the gothic church Notre Dame de la Visitation is the main monument in the area. It has an octagonal tower, flamboyant gothic portal and transom windows.
