On a little hill overlooking the river Baise, Valence is a charming
old village. On a clear day you can see almost the whole Pyrenees
mountains chain stretching out along the horizon.
The XII century
Flaran Cistercian Abbey is a Cultural Centre in a peaceful country
setting. You will find exhibitions and don't miss the high-quality
concerts.
The Baise river has now been made navigable again, and the port
at Valence was revived in 1998. The trip up the Baise from the
Garonne river deserves to be explored if you are on the Canal
des Deux Mers.
