Most
likely, Bram is the oldest village in the area with vestiges
dating back 110 years B.C.
Bram is a picturesque, circular village
built around its XIIIth century church in a typical Lauragais
architecture.
Today only the Saint-Julien and Sainte-Basilisse
churches remains .
In 1194, its fortress was destroyed
during the Albigensian crusade and only few vestiges can be
seen today.
Walter Spangherro, famous Rugdby player
and his brother Laurent were both natives of Bram and they succeded
in marketing the Cassoulet de Castelnaudary all over the world.
In the past, Bram was an important port built to suit the needs
of shipping : a tow path on one side and a mooring quay for
boats on the other.

Located about 4 km away from Bram, in the country side, the
