   The Canal du Midi and the Canal Lateral to the Garonne river forms France's longest navigable artificial waterway. Together they are called the Canal des deux mers.

   The Canal du Midi, created by Pierre-Paul Riquet, is now nominated as UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE.
