This is the first aqueduct to be built in France and the oldest structure of its kind in the world. The Repudre river pass over the canal that runs lower than the river bed.
Thus the Repubre river bed is the aqueduct that allows navigation.
Three hundred years after its built this 135 metres long structure entirely made out of dressed freestone is still in function.
